Dancing for a Cause – 90’s Throwback to Support Women’s Health
June 1 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Dancing for A Cause (D4AC) is the United Democratic Club’s yearly hallmark gala where we gather in support of social justice issues. Due to being under attack by the current Republican administration, for 2017 we are supporting women’s health issues by partnering with Simply the Basics, a non-profit with a mission to “help people meet their most basic needs with dignity so they can focus on greater goals.” The theme of this year’s gala is the 1990’s, so be prepared to dress up and dance to classics such as “Spice up Your Life” with the Spice Girls, rock out to “Just a Girl” with Gwen Stefani, and say “No ‘to’ Scrubs” with TLC.
Each D4AC ticket purchased donates the following items to Simply The Basics: Tampon Pack, Maxi Pads, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hand and Body Lotion, Conditioner, Tearless shampoo, Med. Comb, Socks (10-pack), Cotton T-Shirts (4-pack)
Check out Simply the Basics here: http://www.simplythebasics.org/
Attire: ’90’s attire encouraged but not required.

About the United Democratic Club
The mission of the United Democratic Club (UDC) is to empower Democrats across San Francisco to foster civic and philanthropic engagement.
Founded in 2016, the UDC is a diverse group of Democrats who seek to unify and empower San Francisco’s many shades of Democratic blue so we are best prepared to promote and defend Democratic ideals on a local, state, and national level. Our 100% volunteer board aims to fight for social justice, protect those who are vulnerable and work to provide economic opportunities for all.
We’re not just a political club – we’re an organization that has “giving back” built into our foundation. To date, we’ve hosted 80+ member events, 11 of which were volunteer opportunities or fundraisers for local non-profits. Our 425+ members have collectively donated more than 2,000 hours of their time to campaigns and issues.
