What is Subsidized Affordable Housing?
November 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The term “affordable housing” can be confusing. Affordable to whom? How is it decided who lives there? How much money do the residents make? What other benefits are available to the residents, besides affordable rents?
We’ll go to the experts to fully understand what “Subsidized Affordable Housing” (with a capital A) really means. The event will be hosted at Valencia Gardens, a residential property owned and operated by Mission Housing Development Corporation.
Sam Moss, Executive Director of Mission Housing and Contreras Marcia, Dir. Of Operations and Resident Services, will give us the low-down on what it means to build and maintain this much-needed housing in San Francisco. After the presentation, we’ll have a moderated discussion featuring Moss, Contreras, Kate Hartley from the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) and Todd David from the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC).
